Simple easy fleece scarves…

Winter is upon us and it is chilly outside (unless you live in California where it feels like Spring).  An easy thing to make and give as a gift, or keep for yourself, are fleece scarves.  No sewing skills required!  You can purchase fleece at any fabric store.  I use my coupons at Joann’s and get a great deal, or wait until fleece is 40-50% off.  1 yard makes approx. 6 scarves, assuming the cut is straight.  I lay out the fleece, measure 7 inches wide using a yard stick.  Cut the fleece, preferably in a straight line, from end to end of the bolt, not where the fleece was cut at the store.  Then cut fringe on the end.  It’s that simple!  Quick, easy, inexpensive, and toasty warm!

Heart “felt” purse…

I made these felt purses for my favorite Southern girls…you know who you are.  Auntie Weezy is gonna do some spoilin’ when she comes to the Big D!!!  The purses are darling and were very simple to make.

I started with a piece of felt, cut it in half with a fabric cutter.  Then I pinned and sewed the 2 halves together, only on 3 sides, with a small zig zag stitch.
Punch holes in the top 2 corners of the side that is not stitched
Push the end of a super fluffy pipe cleaner through a hole and bend it together using pliers
Repeat on the other side
Cut out felt flowers.  I used a pattern to make my flowers and used different sizes.
Stack the flowers and hand sew onto the purse with a button on top.  Then glue a rhinestone to the center of the button.  I used E6000 glue, which sticks to just about everything.  I applied it with a small disposable paint brush.
Now the purses are ready to fill with treats…
Happy crafting…

Bead easy…

Do you ever say to yourself, “What am I going to give to her for a gift?”  Oh, and by the way…I need it NOW!  We have all been in that situation.  I like to keep a few generic gifts on hand exactly for those situations.  If you like making gifts, I have made these beaded key chains for several people.  They are very simple to make, and QUICK.  All you need are 3″ headpins, beads of your choice, key rings, and round nose crafting pliers.  Each key chain take about 30 seconds to make…no joke!  Happy beading…
