Spring Treats…

Spring has sprung and I was looking for a fun treat for my daughter’s class.  I came up with the idea to chocolate dip Peeps bunnies and attach them to a Smores Girl Scout cookie.  They turned out adorable!

The items you will need are:

Wilton Candy Melts, Peeps Bunnies, Smores Girl Scout Cookies (Graham Crackers would work also), & parchment paper.

Start by melting the chocolate by following the directions on the bag.  Next, dip the Peeps Bunny about half way in to the chocolate and press it onto the cookie.  Let set and enjoy!

To get them ready to hand out to the class, I wrapped each one in a fold top sandwich bag and tied a spring ribbon around it.  The students LOVED them!

Easter decorating with carrots

I absolutely went crazy when I saw these carrots at the store!!!  Sorry…I bought them several years ago, but still LOVE them!

They look amazing hanging on a stretcher rod in the open space between my kitchen & family room!

Using strawberry baskets to make an Easter basket

Have you ever finished a basket of yummy sweet strawberries and decided to keep the basket for future use?  I do this ALL of the time!  I have given used strawberry baskets to many teachers for their classes to create Easter baskets.  It is a fun way to “up cycle”.

Start with extra fluffy pipe cleaners, colorful ribbon, and the baskets

Thread the ribbon through the basket and tie a bow.  Add a second layer of ribbon, if desired.

Push the pipe cleaner through the end of the basket, using the center opening.  Repeat on the other side.

If you want to make the bows on the ends of the basket, thread the ribbon through the front and back of the basket, leaving extra ribbon on each end.  Then tie a bow on each end.

Add the pipe cleaner and the basket is complete.  Add Easter grass and a large filled plastic egg.  VERY cute!
